I have to get lifter bores enlarged on a Donovan D500 alum BBC block. Going from the .842" to .904". Should I have them done with the bronze bushings or just run them on the alum?
What is your guys opinion on this kit? http://wydendorfmachine.com/kitb.html?kitid=8
Migh be alright? I probably don't need to "correct" the bores like a stock block due to the fact the Donovan would have been machined properly when made. We could use the reamer tool my freinds mill and it should be precise.

I used that exact kit to do the same thing to a Merlin aluminum block. I took my time and drilled slow with a high quality hand drill, worked very well. Ran the motor all of 2012 in a 1471 high helix auto door car, sold the motor to go Hemi, and that motor is still doing great.

    Hope this helps,

We run them in the aluminum until they get loose then put in the bushings.
