Anyone run a KB 600 aluminum BBC block? Good block? How does is compare to a Donovan or New Century?

    Kb 600

I think it had std, chevy style caps, also the Donavan.

The KB 500 has standard caps. KB 600 has cross bolted caps

I do along with a bunch of fellow racers that I know. It is an excellent block, much better than the Donovan as it is cross bolted and equal to or a little less than the New Century. I give the nod to New Century though as they are still active in the block business and are redefining the block to make it better.

I have a line on a very nice KB600 with no windows or saddles.
Can you run a conventional 168 tooth BBC starter?

Yes I can and I know someone that is looking for one depending on the deck height and bore. What do you have?

I don't have the block I'm looking to buy one, I'm just trying to get some more info
    on them before I do.

Sorry about that. Yes you can run the 168 tooth flywheel and starter in the normal passenger side position. You will need a different starter block instead of a regular Chevy starter block. You may still be able to get them from Ken Black.
