Any opinions on which convertor manufacturers build the best convertor for a blown alcohol heavy door car with a powerglide?

    Spec Rite
    Pro Torque
    Coan
    Chance
If you call any of them and tell them about your car they will put together a combination that works.

Lester and Andy Johnson have had great success with the FTI XPM series. Procharged Hemis 25-2600 lbs. As I have also, much lighter at 2000 lbs though. .932 60'

I have used FTI and Coan and had great success with either company and a power glide.

I run a Coan. No complaints. Pretty decent customer service too.

They will all give you good service. Never a complaint from me on any of them. The big differences are if they are a bolt together converter of welded together and price. Coan and Chance are the two expensive ones and the others are about a third to half the price

I have never seen or heard about a PTC converter in a fast PM. They make great converters for all other cars.

Hey bob , what type of slippage are you seeing with your PTC? And what does it flash to? And if you don't mind saying what you approximately pay for it because I'm currently running a PTC with my powerglide and not sure it's gonna hold the power and give me a 6,000-6,200 stall at the same time?

Generally it is flashing to 6300, falls back 6 to 700 at the 1/2, and 5% at 1320.
The car weighs 2070, has been sub 6 flat, at 234 in good air.

Those numbers sound perfect but you're car bob is 1800lbs lighter than mine, I dealt with lane at PTC is a 10" welded convertor which he called their pro mod convertor but only cost around $1,200, how about your convertor bob???

Lane is who I dealt with too. mine is a bolt together. I want to say $2200.00, but I'm not positive.
