I'm looking for some input on using a 9 inch rear end in a top alcohol funny car compared to the 10.5 top loaders or MW 11 inch?, I'm planning on using a billet housing with a MW 10 inch and 4 inch bearings. Any Ideas on what I could expect as far as gear and bearing life expectancy?

I've never had bearing issues until I tried running a 4.56 back in the roots days. Had trouble with the pinion bearing.

I run the 4.29 Motive 10" gear in a 9" Ultra case and I have to say very impressed with it. Have two full seasons on it and still going strong.
Would recommend this to anyone. Not sure who makes the MW gears so no comment.

Does the 10 inch gear need a different spool to put it in a 9 inch ultra case

Strange makes a spacer kit for the ultra case uses the same pinion support just moves it out about a 1/4 inch.
