We are building a new 125" funny car chassis to run with a 23T body and are wondering where in relation to the axle centerline is everybody running their motors on an alcohol funny ?? 64" out seems to be a popular answer and also correct placement for body.
We had an old fuel chassis a few years back that if I remember correctly was about 60", but that was a little tight with a 8 5/8 can and a 3spd lenco CS1.

62.5 to 64" sounds about right to me

We did some checking into this last winter. 65 is about the new normal. I have heard some of the new cars are as far as 67 inches out. Hope this helps.

Cnitro, it really depends what type of tracks you will run on. National event cars will run the motor out there and match race cars will run it back. Would this be for the Pro Comp deal?

we ran an alcohol funnycar . the motor was 63.5 out and the car ran great on good or marginal tracks. 65 or more out and it might not be to good on anything less than national event conditions.

We settled on 63" "out" as the tracks we run at are more often in match race shape than national event condition.
Yes Thom....Were back to runnin' ProComp in a front motored deal... can't take the engine in the rear deal. When your runnin' some very USED parts it's nice to see if she's coming apart BEFORE you drive over the crank !! LOL
