What an AWESOME show at a KILLER facility!

Earth Shaking Entertainment was booked into Piedmont Dragway in Julian North Carolina this past Saturday August 10th. We had TWO Extreme Blown Altereds in Bill Naves "EXTREME PURSUIT" and Jim Dickey's "MY FAVORITE CHARITY" that would battle it out in two rounds of competition with the quicker of the two going head to head with Travis Harvey's Carolina Kid 68' camaro Pro Mod!

We had clouds all day long that eventually turned into huge thunder storms. The track made the call to wait till Sunday to have the show as the weather looked a bit more favorable.

Sunday rolled around and it was clear skies! HOT and HUMID with approx 3,300 ft of air. Not trhe best racing conditions but we were ready to thunder! Jim Dickey had his new M5 blower on his hot rod and this would be Naves 1st race with the updated rear wing and top fuel cannards!

First round was at 2pm sharp! Naves in the right lane with Dickey in the left. The show kicked off with two giant burnouts! The Altereds rolled back with Extreme Pursuits Lights flashing and siren screaming! Everything checked out with the cars and we rolled them into the beams. The RPM's were up and the tree came down! Dickey had a slight starting line advantage but Naves had already caught up by the 60' with a .992 to a 1.01. The New wings did the trick as Naves thundered to a first rd win with a strong 4.11 @ 173 mph to Dickey's close 4.14! Margin of victory was .013! AWESOME RACE!

Unfortunatley while towing back to the pits, the Extreme Pursuit '34 Coupe picked up some a shard of metal and punctured our rear left slick! With our only pair on the car, and nobody having the same 5 on 5 1/2 wheels the call was made for Dickey to take on the Pro Mod while the Naves family would haul 60 miles back to the shop and get the old spare bead locks (that we havent run in years).

So it was Dickey and Travis Harvey in round two! The fans seemed to love the match up. Dickey would be in the right lane this time and when the two rocketed off the starting line, Dickey ran into some major tire shake bouncing down the track still managing a strong 4.12 but loosing to the pro mods 4.02!

Wheels arrived and Naves was set for the third and Final round. Nervous about running the bead locks but happy to have whels and tires with no holes in them! Dickey was slowly reigning in the tuneup with his new monster M5 blower so this round would be interesting!

Another pair of side by side 1/8th mile burnouts! Who was going to come out on top and be KING of Piedmont Dragway?

Drivers whaked the throttle a few times getting the fans attention and clearing things out! The two rolled into the beams and the tree came down! It was Dickey out of the hole first with a slight starting line advantage! The track was awesome as Dickey's 60' was a .984 to Naves .986! Naves ran into a little tire shake but drive through it keeping it close as Dickey runs LOW ET of the meet with a HUGE 3.98 at 181 MPH to Naves 4.13 at 173 MPH! It was a great final round with both showing the fans just what these Altereds are all about!

The track loved the show and we are hoping to be back soon! ESE wants to thank all the fans and family that came out to support the show along with the track and track personel for giving us a great facility to run at!
