I notice most funny cars have the chutes mounted to the bottom of the rear end, yet dragsters, even though the motor is higher, have them mounted top and bottom depending on the builder. I would rather mount them higher. What are the pros and cons? Thanks

That should say dragsters have them mounted top "or" bottom

Funny cars have the chutes mounted to the bottom of the housing so the lines dont break the body.
I have run the line on the top and bottom of the dragster rear housing and didnt notice any difference

Shroud line mounting points higher up have less tendency to lift the rear of the car on deployment and keep the chute open longer. The higher up the pack sits the more air the chute catches = faster deployment. Down side is less arrowdynamics. Some racers are tilting the pack up so the pilot catches the air.
