Demke and peen rite tad team capture wire-to-wire wally win
<img src="http://www.insidetopalcohol.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=268&thumb=1&d=1282175677" align="right" borders="0"/>" Brainerd, Minn. – NHRA Division 7 Top Alcohol Dragster driver Chris Demke and the Maddern Racing / PEEN-RITE Abrasives Blown Alcohol Dragster team captured their third NHRA National Event title during the 29th running of the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals contested in Brainerd, Minn. The victory for the Sunland, Calif. based team was their second of the 2010 season while using CleanBoost® PERFORMANCE MOTOR OIL’s 70 wt METTLE ARMOR Racing Oil.

The three-time NHRA Division 7 TAD Champions entered eliminations after recording a 5.36-second elapse time in qualifying to take the pole position in the field of 11 Top Alcohol Dragsters. The PEEN-RITE Abrasives and CleanBoostoil.com sponsored team’s stellar qualifying effort provided them with a first round bye-run. They certainly did not hold back their efforts, as “The Circus Clowns” laid down an impressive 5.320 second, 267 mile per hour blast to give them lane choice against Mike Austin in round two.

The second round paired the Southern California team against their friend from Medford, Ore., Mike Austin driving Steve Federlin’s “Impatience” Blown Alcohol Rail. The race was over before it officially began as Austin left the starting line - 0.007 seconds prior to the green light was triggered. Demke and the PEEN-RITE team showed their potential by improving their low ET of eliminations to a 5.302 at a booming speed of 271.24 MPH.

In the semi-final round, Demke met former US Nationals champion Marty Thacker from Robinson, Ill. for the first time in their long NHRA careers. Demke captured a slight starting line advantage and never looked back, recording a 5.318 ET to take the round win against Thacker who trailed with a 5.349 ET, his best performance of the event. The final round was set to be a re-match of the 2009 O’Reilly NHRA Nationals in Houston, Texas.

Demke faced the potent A/Fuel Dragster of Duane Shields from Boulder City, Nev. in the money round. Team clutch specialist Adam Rhoades called his shot after the semi-finals when he said, “We’re going to pour the coals to it in the final.” Shields held nearly 0.030 in starting line reaction time advantage, but the power of the Maddern Racing Blown Alcohol Dragster took the lead by the 330 foot mark and marched to an event low elapsed time of 5.281 seconds en-route to the Brainerd sweep.

“We would like to offer our sincere congrats to Chris Demke and the entire Jerry Maddern Racing team for their dominate victory this weekend in Brainerd,” noted Tim Charlet, Director of Sales and Marketing for Combustion Technologies USA (http://www.combustionusa.com), the parent company of CleanBoost® PERFORMANCE MOTOR OIL. “Chris and his team are a fine example of classy racers and it’s an honor to work with a great group of people. We especially take our hats off to Jerry, Dixie, Kevin, Hamburger Mike and Adam “Poncho” Rhoades for a job well done in tuning their hot rod to exceptional performance. They have represented CleanBoost® PERFORMANCE MOTOR OIL very well. We look forward to expanding our partnership with the PEEN-RITE team at their next race at the prestigious US Nationals Labor Day weekend.”
