Anyone on here using the (newer) CP/Carrillo forged aluminum rods? Both in blown alcohol and A/fuel application. Experiences and Opinions?

I was just talking about CP with a friend of mine the other day that crews for Eddie Knox; Eddie uses CP aluminum rods in his TF hydro. He's on this board.

I highly recommend them! We were the first to run them in A-fuel and from the beginning they have been great, both the product and personnel. Heck, we just ran 280 with them!

Did they take over an existing rod program from someone, or is this a new deal? How do they compare to the BME forged rods?

Larry, how did they compare to whatever you were running before, and are you using CP/Carrillo pins and/or pistons as well?

    Thanks

We are running them in a Procharged setup, great to deal with and a very well built piece.

They work absolutely great! The rods are made out of premium material which is C555. This material is called many different things by different manufacturers. Most call it C555. For example, Brooks called it 35(as in three 5's) and used it on their TF forging.

Yes, I use the Pistons too. Awesome as well.

    All the best,
    Larry

Thanks much Larry for the info. I'm working with Ed Urcis now on a piston design and will be spec-ing a rod as soon as the piston is nailed down.

Their website is: http://www.cp-carrillo.com/ There is not much on the website on their aluminum rods, but you can download the catalog and there's some info starting on page 70
