Couple questions

    What heat range spark plug is best to start with?
    What injector spray lubricant is best or most commonly used?

    With an alcohol motor you only want to use the coldest heat range of plug such as a -10 or -11 and you are not going to change. One does not read the color of the center electrode to tune the alcohol motor. What you want to do is to keep that center electrode as cool as possible so it doesn’t act like a glow plug.     Most use Prism spray. It can be purchased through Wizards Warehouse or RBS

    Right on Mike good read so I guess I got a couple more questions.
    So how do you determine where to start your base timing at?
    And whats a safe EGT reading? my probes are 2" from the head.

    If you describe your motor and ignition system then somebody here can tell you a good timing start.

    Normal high safe EGT for methanol is 1050* F. Reading your plugs is far more accurate than reading EGTs.

    SBC 410 ci. 3.75 stroke 5.7 rod flat top piston, 13.1 compression
    LSM solid roller, Blower shop 8-71 Billet HH, starting with +7%, upper and lower nozzles, 7531 MSD 8261 coil...
