Congrats to Hillary on getting the Kalitta/Ken Black ride.

According to Bob Frey at DRC, Hillary will pilot the Ken Black owned 4th Top Fuel car that Kenny Bernstein was originally considered for.

It's great to see someone move up from the alcohol ranks for the job!

i agree. congrats to hillary i also heard that news today on the broadcast from ken black!
seems the nhra is going the same direction as nascar and starting to take these young drivers early and making super stars out of them...i.e. morgan lucas etc, etc. anyhow i think its great and a awsome opportunity!

Let's face it, in this day and age Marketing is all that counts when hunting for and keeping sponsors! Plus being 100-110 lbs doesn't hurt! ;)

You right about the younger drives That what is going to take over the sport

If you read between the lines it dont sound like WJ is really wanting to step down as a drive but It sound like GM wants a younger driver.

If you worked at a Multi-million dollar company and were thinking of sponsoring an NHRA team. Would you consider a 25-30 year old driver, or an over 50 year old driver to represent your product?

If i were passing out the $$$$$$ a 50 year old might be a TAD to old(except Niver) and what does a 25 to 30 year old know? So the best bet might be on a 40 to 41 year old slightly puffy male with a great sense of humor and a strong Liver. And a TAFC.

Just a thought, does it really matter....

Don, you're killin me here, obviously you didn't know that Mark is only 34 (lol). And as for a 40-41 year old TAFC driver with a strong liver, can't think of a better one than you!!! See you at Fontana.

    Later
    Bob.

Bobby, Fred said that Fontana sounds too much like some parts we used to use, so were going to Indy instead. Now if the race was at MRP (Miner Raceway Park)we might consider it...

Pat, since when does a year or so of TAD and winning one race constitute "payin her dues"? you gotta be jokin! I think young and female had more to do with it than anything. Nothing personal but i am tired of seeing new rides go to chicks or money bags instead of talented proven drivers in the alky ranks.

I think the rolly eyes implies sarcasm on Pat's post.

I think paying your dues comes with learning and understanding your own race car, which Lucas, Dixon, Connolly all did. As well as earning the respect of your fellow competitors... we each have our own opinions on that.
