Hi just building my first blown alky deal. And taking my time so I can buy the best bits I can afford. I have a 4.125 bore I have been doing some research on ring gap and clearances but it does not really equate to real world experience if anyone has advise it will be greatly appreciated. Also looking at mains clearance 2.500 dia mains on crank and a 2.200 bbc dia rod journal. It's not going to be a heavy hitter just 8000 rpm or so and it has a 4.150 stroke. Thanks

Ok Mark, so it's a altered 103 wheelbase maybe I'm guessing it will weigh 1900 or so, it has a fair bit of tube in the frame and an independent front end! I have a new rodeck 392 block, Venolia 4.125 pistons, a crower 4.150 crank. It will be about 12.5:1 have not ordered rods yet as I have not put the cam in and checked piston to valve clearance. With an adjustable length rod made. 90% sure it will be 7.250 cc distance an i will order Mgp rods on a BBC journal size, Have both iron and alloy heads titan roller rocker gear,Running a wet sump Titan billet oil pump, thinking of running a 50 or 60 weight oil but that starts another thread I guess as to oils!!! Running a stripped 671 std helix nothing fancy blower just made of mag maybe 15-20 over if It can make 20lbs that would be fine, would like it to run mid 7's. keep it to 8000rpm max..lenco two speed 34% first and a L&T 10 inch dual plate pedal clutch. 4:11 and 4:57 gears 34 inch tyre.

I'm at .0035-.0038" mains and .003-.0032 on the rods with standard SBC sizes.

    50wt oil, unstripped 6-71 10% over, 7300rpm shift. Basic/low maintenance setup
