Does anyone have experience with BME forged rods vs a GRP for instance. They claim for have 4x the life expectancy compared to a normal non-forged rod. This would be for a high boost SBC application. Thanks.

No first hand between the two. Think grain structure.

Irrespective of who makes the rod, if the rod is formed around the basis of a compacted directional forging, then the net tensile load/fatigue life of the rod will be superior. If it is instead formed around the basis of a compacted plate structure, then the tensile load/fatigue life will be less.

Have to do your homework and talk to the various manufacturers to get a comfort level. My own opinion, a forging (AL, MMC, or CFB) is the only way to go. That's just my opinion. Compressive strength not really a consideration.
