I'm trying to think of the blown cars that could run in the 5.30's and was wondering who else could be added to the list below (I'm hoping this fall at Chicago, Reading or Pomona when conditions are better some of these guys/gals will run that quick):
    Duane Shields
    Shelly Howard
    Marty Thacker
    David Wells
Russ Lindert (I think he ran a 5.41 at the div. 3 race in Indy)
Jeff Wilson (didn't he run a 5.43 on a mediocre track at Columbus last weekend?)

Are there some div. 6 or 7 blown cars that could run that quick? What about div. 1 cars?
Thanks for any help. I'm trying to see which cars to keep an eye on at the quicker tracks later in the season.

Shields (20's as well), Hentges, Thacker, Lindert, Haley, Howard, Cottrell (Slagle), Nicholson and Wells have been in the 30’s and are currently racing TAD.

You can add Brandon Johnson to the list. I am not 100% positive but I believe Both John Halely and Guy Kelly have dip into the 5.30's as well.

we did a 5.45 at E-Town last year. the previous owner of our car ran 5.30's on a regular basis. Strasburg.

Len's car turned a 5.38 last year at Reading also i believe.

You 'ran', not 'did', a 5.45 at E-Town last year. Don't think Mike ever ran in the 30's, believe a low to mid 40 (.43-.44) was his best.

Pat- he might have "DID A 5.45" just coincidence that he ran that same numer! I think he deserves an ATTA BOY for that run! it's not as easy as it appears from the bleachers! ;)

</font>[/QUOTE]Just f'in with you, Mic. I believe Bob's bleachers comment was meant for me, so he is obviously uninformed. Tell Steve I said hello.

Sorry- my bleacher comment was not for anyone on this board- I was just trying to emphasize my point that I thought the 5.43 was a great run, and the fans in the bleachers have no idea how hard it is. Pat- you may have seen my comment on Deepstage in support of your info, so once again- the comment was not an attack on anyone. Just a statement of fact if not conjecture. I have the odd opportunity to sit in the bleachers and I overhear experts explaining it all every time.
SO LIGHTEN UP- this is an info board for me, not a bashing board. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    it's all good [IMG]

Pat no problem i will. i'm going over his house tonight to do some work on the car with him.

hell just running .50's on a regular basis is hard :D but with the right weather like we've seen last 2 years at Maple Grove .30's could be possible for just about anyone.
