we hopped up the blower on our 355 in smallblock. it had a 1.08 60ft but about 600 ft it sheared all the teeth off the belt.the belt stayed on,it just sheared all the teeth off.why?

how much did you speed it up? how many runs on the belt?

take a good hard look at the pulley or pulley(s) you changed for the new od. could be that new pulley eating up belt. even if they looked good, i would be hesitant to use them again until another problem was found.

another problem could be geometry, although i would think that bad geometry would make it chunk it rather than sheer the teeth off. the angle your idler pulley is in relation to the blower pulley could effect how your belt likes making the turn over with a pulley spinning even faster under it.

hard to say w/o actually seeing it. hope this helps. what track do you run?

Do you run 14mm, 13.9mm or 8mm pulleys? Sometimes you can run a 14mm belt on a 13.9 top pulley, but not on a larger 13.9 bottom pulley. That extra .1mm between each tooth trying to engage stresses the teeth on the belt.
