I've got shot at before for this one, but I want to see who's in:

BAD vs. AFD. No tech guys, no scales. Run whatcha brung, just have the right safety equip. Middle of summer at a track ???

Before I go around trying to sell this, I want to know who's in. Here's how it works.

My 8 car booked in show cost $15k for a track to put on. it pays 4k to win, 3 runs max. many of yall have seen the program.

I can get 8 good relatively local cars for that and put on a hell of a show. Or we raise the stakes, and see who the best of the best is. Here's the layout:

Track puts up $16k to the purse. Racer entry is $1000. Payout based on 16 car field:

    $20,000 to win
    $5,000 r/u
    $1,500 semi
    $750 quarters
    $250 qualify

2 qualifiers Friday night, First round Saturday evening.

I know $250 isn't much to qualify, but this isn't the race you go to just to qualify. This is truly a gamblers race that will be run in the summer, more than likely at night. So there will be an equalizer.

    Who's in?

Will the silence is defening. Not to difficult to promote a show where the racers put up the whole purse. If I were a track operator I'd book one every week.

I've got 6 guys in so far in about an hours worth of calls.

bob - the track is putting up 16k of the purse. The other 16k (or more) comes from the entry. This is the way you race for $20k. Like I said, this isn't for a car that doesn't think it can win. This clearly isn't a round money race. It's to bring out the big guns. A $16k investment by the track is no small investment. My 8 car show goes for $15k. The difference is the winner gets $4000 in that payout.

Call it a 'gamblers' race. Call it crazy. But whoever wins will call it a damn good day.

Hey Will why not make it 15,000 to win
    5,000 R/U, 2,000 semis, 1000 1/4's and 750 1st rd.

It is an extra 1000 for the track but at least everyone in the field except 1st round break even on the up front money.

15,000 is still a good paycheck for a TA team.

we're already hitting the track budget with 16k. i think the 20k to win justifies the 1000 entry fee. 15k is pretty good, 20k is the biggest ever.

not necessarily darren. keep in mind we're talking late july, south texas and the a/fuelers aren't the only ones with their hands untied here.

notice, no tech guy. if i do it, i'll check safety equipment, thats it. see no evil....write in what you want.
