back when I use to work on circle track supermodifieds we got all the way down to Flemington New Jersey and one of the local teams from back home pulled in behind us and opened up the trailer to find a mess and their car broke in half

15 years ago, had a 'slow' door car, with a stock GM column in it. The keys were hanging in the garage. No turn wheel, no drive car.
And yes, i STILL get teased about that crap.
firesuit... washed it... hung it in the garage.... was still hanging there when I got home. (I didn't forget the beer though)

Only 1 time in 25 years! Left the wheelie bars hanging in the shop.sent Wife to get them.She showed up with car in the staging lanes and me strapped in. Paniced crewman smashed the windshield getting them out of her car..(made the run though!) Ahh memories.....
forgot to double check.....
forgot to double check all items on the top deck were "properly" secured.. rolled into the Grove and opened the gait to find our short block head studs down on imbedded in the rear deck of the race car.. wooops not a good start to the weekend.. thank god for duck tape..
at a 4 day race I forgot to pack underware once.
Not a problem, unless your firesuit is made out of wool!
I guess we're the only ones that ever forgot the body pole. Sure is hard to look first class with a 2x4 holdin the body up!
