given the current rules, we (jason cannon) have bought chris ricketts a/fd and will debut it in indy with the conway combo.

we really hated to leave the blown deal, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the writing on the wall. nhra has shown little inclination to change the rules. to be competitive on a national level given the current rules, you have to have an afd.

regardless of us making the switch, i really do hope nhra doesn't let the blown cars become a part of the history books.

Maybe the blown cars should be allowed to run a Ford combo if it is such big advantage like they say it is.

Will Conway said at Ennis he had two more cars in his shop making the change. Who is the other?
I can see that the blown guys are not of the same temperment as the original fuel people who stuck with their programs for years finally getting to the point where they were fairly consistant and competetive. Can't say as I blame any of you for switching though!!!
Hey I've got some gas masks if you need to borrow them...

i know james thompson is one of them, i dont know of the other...this all happened this week.

as far as being of the same temperment, how many years does it take of only being able to run the same blower, the same heads (limited by rules) etc to get to that 'temperment'? new mag comes out, cant run it. new ignition control comes out, cant run it. so the rules had us boxed in.

so now we'll try something new...

It is not an attempt at humor. I am serious.

    Your comment was ignorant.

good luck with the new combination, you have a great guy in conway helping out, hope it comes together and runs fast right away, but if not, dont get discouraged, any new combo takes time, for car and crew!!

Does all this mean I can buy a cheap blown car to take to Malta where we don't have nitro ?
Our 5 second small block car is due for replacement. We ordered a new block from CN months ago on 6 week delivery and it still ain't ready ! Brads stuff must be easier to get hold of ?

Here's a question I have wanted to ask for quite a while now, but knew it would probably be taken the wrong way.

Okay, let's say everyone changes to A-Fuel  , then the class is just basically a junior fuel class. Without the "drama" ;) and the different types of cars, what if the fan/sponsor base drops and then NHRA decides to do away with the whole class? :(
Just my little 'Hmmm' for today, I'll put my stick away now. ;)

    Kim,
You are right in one aspect, but look at it this way too: if a sponsor sees that a blown car is not doing as well then why sponsor it. If they know it cannot win then why throw money into it. And don't get me wrong there are blown cars out there that can win but A-fuel is loking better and better.
