Anodizing Magnesium ?

    Who here had good results in Black anodizing magnezium ? I wish to anodize BAE valve covers

    Hi Eric ,
    I struggled to find someone who would do ours. So I had them powdercoated in a Satin Gold finish , almost identical to the BAE finish.

    Search around on this site for options to anodize. It's easy to spend (ie waste) a lot of time on the site...

    A quick Google found a green anodizing for magnesium. I think you will end up powder coating.

    ditto here...powder coat them...much more durable too.
    Had mine done 9 yrs ago, still great.

    Anodize is a process to seal Aluminum, will not work with Mag.
    Dow 7 is the only process to seal Mag. Problem is, the short time in tank will be Gold, but not a good seal of the pores, longer times in the tank just get more of a Green tint.
