What is a good target for EGTs when on the 2-step? I thought I would not need to lean on the 2-step, but really loosing temperature fast when going on the 2-step-THANKS! Jim

Do you have a flow meter on your data logger? If so what GPM are you seeing when on the Two Step?

    Flowmeter Results on the 2-step

I am seeing 4.82gpm on the flowmeter when on the 2-step. My EGTs are going down below 400 degrees average and 3 cylinders are below 250 degrees. I am so fat or just too cold for the engine to make any power and cannot get up on the tire to get moving with a 1.03 60' and this is with a 2560# car with a blown hemi at 49#s of boost, with 43#s on the 2-step. Any help or ideas would be appreciated to get the car up in the power band-THANKS! Jim

Is this a Roots or screw blower car. How much timing are you pulling out when on the Two Step. That us a real low EGT for that fuel flow. You need yo be up around 625 yo 675 average. I think that since your stage rpm is only at 3000 rpm you are just going to have to reduce the fuel flow via jetting in the lean out solenoid until the EGTs come up. I have seen some cars that have to run dual lean out solenoids to get the fuel out

    Whipple at 60% over/49#s

Mike, it is a Whipple at 60% over making 49#s of boost when leaving and 43#s of boost on the 2-step. I do have 8 to 12 degrees (that has been tried so far) of timing retard when on the 2-step. I do need to start up on the 2-step rpm also, but have just made 2 passes with a new car and motor combo to me. What size leanout pill would you start out with the fuel flow that I have now? I put a .050 in last night, but think I may need even more to start with? I just need more heat and maybe the engine will make some power and get up on the tire. It is pretty well dead hooking now and cannot get in the power band that I need for the motor-THANKS for anymore help in advance-Jim from TN

That's interesting. Something not right in the fuel system. With that much boost on the Two Step then you should have more fuel flow at staging than you have now. With only 4.83 GPM your EGTs should be way up there. The problem most likely is the amount of retard is killing it but having that much retard is not uncommon. If your 60fts are that bad then you need to do something. It sounds like you need less retard.

    Thank you

I am going to a 34.5" tire next from a 36". I am taking less timing out, leaning more on the fuel system (EGTs are averaging 900 degrees through the run), stepping up the launch rpm some and maybe getting the 60' where it should be. THANK YOU for your help and advice! I will give you a report back when making another run-THANKS! Jim
