i know a lot of promod lenco drive cars running 5.13 and
    1.40 1st gear=7.18 hit
if a guy wanted to do a few 1/4 mile races
    is their a problem with using a 1.35/1.28/4.10rear=7.084 hit/2nd=5.248
    and for 1/8 shifting to 2nd only=5.248
    or a 1.35/1.28/3.90rear=6.739 and
1.28x3.90=4.992 2nd and would still have 3rd gear for
    1/4 mile
is their any problem with doing this
or should i just go 1.40 1st and 5.13 rear and make it a 2 speed
    pro mod/brad 5 4.467x4.150 psi c blower 112 od 34.5 goodyear tire
2 step and throttle controller 2650lbs
i dont want to make a 1/8 mile car only
any help on gear ratios for this i would be thankfull
ran clutch before so this is all new
    thanks

    gear ratios

    ok a new one
    how about
    1.28x1.18=1.51x4.30=6.49
    1.51 1st x4.30=6.49
    1.18 2nd x4.30=5.07 ratio hit
other automatic promods run 1.38x5.13=7.07 hit for 1/8 mile
so i will only shift to 2nd on 1/8 mile races
remember this is a lencodrive/coans latest promod converter and
    psi c 112% C blower 2650lbs
im just trying to run mostly 1/8 mile and some1/4
will these ratios get me their or is their something better
    thanks

    1/4

Doug, I don't know why I still think about chevy stuff but i've talked to a couple guys that run a 3 spd in the 1/8th and I think it would allow you to go faster with less rpm. I'm not sure what it will take to go 1/4 mile but I ran a 1.72/1.31 4.56 3spd and it worked good to the 1/8th with a chevy roots combo.
A legal auto roots blown car will give you some ratio ideas but that chevy will have it's tongue hanging out at the stripe.
