    3M has the clear protective tape.

    You can get it in a bunch of different widths and lengths.

    3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film /Rolls;
    84904 - 1"x 12.5 Yards
    84802 - 2"x 40 "
    84804 - 4"x 40 "
    84706 - 6"x 20 "
    84806 - 6"x 40 "

    3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film /Strips;
    84904 4"x 84"
    84906 6"x 84"
    84911 12"x 84"

    This stuff would be available at any body shop supply store that carries 3M products.

    3M is REALLY proud of the stuff, e$$pecially the roll$$$

    This is the same stuff that is on the front of cars to protect the front surfaces.

    Really good stuff, but kinda $pendy.

    Your Pal, Gary

    It is commonly refered to as "blade tape" It is designed for protecting the spare (closest part to teh hub) on the leading edge of a composite rotor blade. That is why it is so $$$ about $400. a roll. We end up using it on everything...until the boss finds out we are using it like duct tape! If you only need a little bit, find a heli shop, that flies Eurocopter machines. They should be able to trade you a bit for beer.
