As a member of Pro Top Outlaws; I would like to invite anybody that runs quick or wants to run quick to check the http://www.protopoutlaws.com organization out. You would have to join to race, please post any comments or concerns you have on the forums page. Next year there are pending rule changes that could open up the field to various other combinations.

We would be running there, but no 14/71 allowed on hemi diggers and with gas, diesel prices and the economy in the shape it's in ain't going to buy a 8/71 either for now

Next season there is a proposed cap on e.t. and/or allowing 14's, screws, clutches to run with PTO. If you'd be interested or have an opinion on the matter, post something on the PTO forums and let us know.

    Thanks,

    index

    Brandon,

Here's some food for thought. I did some reading about the possibility of going to a 3.9 or 3.8 index next year. I really think that will kill the crowds. Any way you slice it or dice it, an index race isn't a true heads up race. Kind of like having your steak overcooked, kinda kills the mood.

If car counts are a problem, maybe loosen up the rules and consider a personal 'index' cic type system. Let's say 3.85 is the 'index' point. Rather than dq someone for running quicker than 3.85, once a car runs 3.85, let's say they get 50 lbs added on for the rest of the year or less overdrive. You could even make it in increments. Say 3.80-3.85 gets 50 lbs, 3.799 gets 100 lbs...

I think putting the 3's on the scoreboard keeps your series in demand. A dragster's fan draw is it's ability to go fast. Slow dragsters won't pull much crowd. You have to stay faster than pro mods, or at least as fast.

    Troy,
As long as you submit an e-mail address and go there (e-mail acct.) and activate it, you should be golden. If you have any further problems send me a pm and I'll have my brother fix anything that is wrong.

    Will,
I am not in favor the index one bit at all. I agree with what you're saying, and I also agree with opening up the rules. The CIC index is a cool idea, hopefully we don't have to worry about either.

Aaron, I talked to Phil at the start of the year and suggested an O.D. rule for Hemi's w/14-71's. We would like to come and race. Our tune-up is only yeilding 4.0's anyway. Don't want to run it any harder and use up parts.

ive been trying for a couple days to register at the PTO site also, and it wont let me in................. i think you guys gotta keep it heads up one way or another. thats your draw!................... as far as your rules, you must be a little carefull. you need to keep a little bonus in there for guys not running a digger. having a variety of styles of cars keeps it from looking like super comp, people love watching funnys, pro mods, and altereds too.............. to tell you the truth, the only thing ya need to do to get that car count up is head up north some. get more of a indy, Mich, Penn, and northern Oh draw........ plus there are some great smaller tracks that would love to put on a show like yours.im familiar with dragway 42, quaker city, thompson..........these tracks all have alot of holes in thier sched that im sure they'd like to fill. im sure the other states have a few to choose from too............... plus they put ya right in the heart of some real quick cars. get em to have some fun in a show or two up there, and they'll come on down for a few in the south................. also as far as car counts go, if i was running the pto id be getting with some of the organizers for the outlaw 10.5 races. they draw huge crowds, id be trying to couple my show with thiers somehow................. who knows, i just want you guys to be around for a minute, so when i get my junk ready i can run with ya! :)

I was with you guys in the begining, in fact Tom and I along with Brian Pfeifer were probably the start of it! Then EVERYTHING moved South??? If it moved up here (Mich) I would run the Funny Car, heck I would probably put an Altered body on it! Miss those double headers at good ole Bunker Hill! See what you guys can do. Heads-Up all the way..Index would kill it ;)

That's great the next race is in Mt Vernon, OH and the races are coming back north check the schedule www.protopoutlaws.com. The index is just an ideal but keep that Funny Car Body, how about a Funny Car Class for 2009 Season Heads UP 1/8 Mile…..Got any other Funny Cars interested??? Pro Top Outlaws TAD and Pro Top Outlaws F/C
We will have only one Dragster class for 2009 and would like to add a Funny Car Class with a 4 to 8 car field depending on car count….Both classes would pay over $4000 Winner $2000 Runner-Up with pay out and contingency. There is $7000 in Contingency for the 2008 Season so check us out…..5 to 6 Race Schedule

    Thanks

funny car class would be great i would defintily come for that its hard to compete with a dragster its hard to run with you all if there is only a slim chance of winning with the fuel prices are to get there if the qualifing money was up a bit more that would help but when the dragsters run 3.80s and a funny car run 3.90s to 4.0s it hard to make uo a tenth on the tree

there ya go, get a few races up north, and watch your counts, exposure, and spectators grow HUGE! theres alot of us that love your series, but its just more economical to run quick 8's up here................. but, throw us a bone or two up here, and we'll make the trek to the south and support the series.............. dont get me wrong, not like its some honor to have us run with ya, heck i doubt we can run a number to even come close to winning. but we, and alot of other guys up here just wanna run heads up. we're tired of the bracket game............... we just wanna race! i dont care if i get my doors blown off, i just wanna run my junk as fast as she'll go,
give me that real racing feeling again and put on a good show for the fans!
