Working on a friends car with a MSD 20 Mag on a Hemi. Warmed the car up, did a burnout and as soon as he hit the throttle it quit. Came back and found no spark. Changed the points box/coil fired up fine. Whacked the throttle on the warm up and same deal, killed the box. Put in another 20 mag and box, did the same thing again. Now we put a 44 set up in it, it did the same thing, as soon as you whack the throttle it kills the box. Everything is grounded as it should be. What the heck am I missing?

Is it a non modified 44? You have one head only grounded to the other head with one ground wire down to the same ground point as you are using for the coil and box. A single point ground. How much timing are you pulling out at that point and what is the rotor phased at? Have you tried putting a “bad” box back on and see if it fires? Are you using a crank trigger. Sorry for all the questions but trying to visualize your setup.
