    hi all!
my engine builder is having the following issue:
on my old brad fuel heads,i installed new stage five rocker arms and new shafts.
pushrods rub against the passages in the head,so i changed the stands for those from 1320 inc that correct the geometry but the pushrods still make contact with the head.
it seems this problem could be adressed by not using shims beween rocker arms and stands:is it acceptable?
thank you in advance for any help.

this is a stage 6 kb block, standard deck height and camshaft location with 904 lifters.
pushrods barely rub on tubes on the intake side.
and i was wrong:no shims on rocker shaft between stand and rocker arm would not solve the problem.
we switched from the combo in picture (unknown rockers brand/ratios,different shaft diameters between intake and exhaust) to brand new stage 5 rocker arms with new shafts and stands.

A little rubbing is ok. Manton said its like a built in anti flex device. Call them they make all kinds of tapered and different sizes to getv you set. Great guys. Good luck.

This is a pic of the setup on the engine "as bought",and the pushrods that were included in the deal were not on the engine so as to release spring pressure.
Engine was untouched for a few years and when it was Time to put this engine to work with New rockers and shaft that the pushrod clearance problem was found
Upon inspection by my engine builder, current pushrods show this clearance problem was already there.

setup on pic has been replaced by brand new parts that helped correct geometry but pushrod clearance issue remained.
i just called Manton as advised above(very nice and helpful people, thank you!)and the best option is to machine the side of the stands so as to move the intake rockers closer to them and correct the clearance issue:problem solved!
thanks a lot to you all!

Cyril I bought a set of stands that the rocker shares are 1/8 higher built into them. Not sure if that will be the way to go? Also bought a complete rocker system that they used 1/8 alum plate under the stands. That’s why I want t try the 1/8 new stands t figure things out!

Had same issue last week with our old BAE fuel style heads. Also had issue with a set that was new long time ago. Answer from Anderson was hey gring them I owe you a beer next time at track quote.

Solution grind them. My last issue was at top of head not deck. Assemble motor. Apply anything to pushrod or head that will show ware from contact. rotate assembly and grind where needed. Sucks but it is what it is.

    update on my clearance problem:
after scratching his head for too long,my engine builder calls me and asks if the lifters are new."yes" i reply, bought brand new ones.then he asks me if i still have the old ones, and to check if they would not happen to have the pushrod locating hole...offset!
    and they do...stupid me...

here is my current setup.after installing new manton pushrods(without taper)and a little grinding in the pushrod holes,no more problem, and no need to modify the new stands.
with the blue stands that were on the heads,i got this set of red stands, that seem to be identical in geometry to the blue ones, but different shape:.
could someone identify them for me?
    thank you in advance.
