Anybody had experience with VP M2 methanol additive ? I know it smells nice but more interested in weather it keeps the hoses in good condition and protects the pump, barrel valve and fuel system from corrosion and wear. A 871 blown big block with big catcher drag sedan.

If you are blowing out all the fuel from the entire system and blowing through WD40 after the race weekend then no problem

We use the m2 more for the upper cly lube and yes it helps out your fuel system. As Mike said after every race we drain our fuel system blow it out and we use a different lube than wd40 and to this day never had any problems. Keep your fuel system clean and taken care of and it will take care of you going down the track.

Just to add. When blowing out your fuel system don’t forget to energize and electric or air fuel solenoids

Thanks guys I ment to say bug catcher in the post, I do the wd40 deal and add some castor oil in the pump to protect the seals and lubricate the gears. I was just curious if the VP additive had any effect on the hoses.

Bit of an old thread but I wanted to say that wd40 is ok as a decal removal aid but is a real bad idea for fuel systems
If allowed to sit it gums things up. Been there.

Dave, I have used WD-40 in alcohol fuel systems for over 20 years and never gummed up anything. The fuel flow sensors keep sensing and the check valves keep checking. I believe the fact that it gums up the system is false news started years ago.

Not fake news or rumor or pit wisdom. Seen it, done it.
If you get along fine with it then no problem, carry on.
