Switching over to a Dual MSD 44 setup from a Dual Super mag 3 setup on a Allison aircraft engine and was wondering what the timing procedure was on a 44. There's no cap or rotor (they are mounted on the end of the camshafts). The Super mags were easy, just look at the points and synchronize them with a buzz box. Anyone here have any experience with this type of a setup? Thanks.

No buzz box with a 44 because no points to make and break. We all use a timing light. I can email my Mag 44 expert at MSD and ask him if you like? If I read you correctly you don’t want to time it with the engine running, is that correct?
