    Hello all
Is there anyone out there running Alkypro and Altronics Performeaire PC based weather station. Just acquired both and cant get Alkypro to recognize the Weaterstation (cant find the COM port) So far Alypro and Altronics haven't been able to help.

Yes, I use that combination. What serial to USB adapter are you using? Did you load the driver for the adapter onto your computer?

The Driver is FTDI, as far as loading the driver the adapter was installed from previous set up. no specific driver was provided from either AlkyPro or Altronics. I just sent Greg the Alkro logs maybe he can find something there... Although I use computers daily and even work in an industry that is Computer dependent I just cant warm up to working on them...

My guess is that it is your USB to Serial adapter is not being recognized by your computer. The adapter manufacturer is the one that supplies the driver for the computer, not Alky Pro or altronics. The best adapter I have used that does not go to sleep is the one sold by Racepak. The driver for it loads automatically if you have the Racepak software on the computers. I have never had a problem connecting the weather station to Alky Pro.

Thanks for the link . I don't have a real serial port on the computer it only (4) USB ports. The Altronics (raceworks) software operates fine with regard to the weather station so the USB cable is capable of carrying the appropriate information to the computer. But possibly the AlkyPro can not ???? The Raceworks software can not be running at the same time as AlkyPro though so I have uninstalled it for the time being. The serial/USB adapter is a chip on the mother board (as I understand it) I tried to educate myself but computer people use too many acronyms that I am not aware of their meaning to keep straight. Thanks for your input. I will follow up as things change

Yes, I understand you only have USB ports just like mine but isn’t the output of the weather station via a serial plug?

Nope...all USB connections. USB A on the computer end and USB B on the Weather station end

Ok, different from mine. Alky Pro should be able to figure that out from the log you sent them.it is neat when it works. I used a cell phone attached to my computer that transmitted the DA and main jet size to an apps on my phone so it keeps me updated while in the staging lanes.

Greg got me up and running... Altronics seems to have made some data output changes and the correct path needed to be discovered.
