Is the Hammer blower a high helix? I would get the name of the person selling it and call Troy at Hammer and ask him about it. Phone 469.877.1957

Spoke with the guy who posted the Hammer wanted pics of rotors and such he sent me pics of a littlefield blower with that same carbon fiber hat no pics of those rotors either. Not sure what was up with that but SCREW THAT I bought an F-11 Superman Plus direct from Fowler I know that will work and I know im gonna get what i paid for should have by FRIDAY Gonna put on BAU also. Oh yeah now I need new tune up LOL
Dont think im gonna need that sizer after all. I am gonna go easy and work into it slowly. Would definetley beware of that Hammer Post wanted a bank wire and couldnt tell me crap about the unit except it would spin 11000 rpms WTF???

I think if you are going to have to get rid of fuel to go leaner then you are going to need a pump sizer with a 28 lb check valve

Mike I bought another check for the sizer and fittings to move the high speed to port line. But I also bought the Superman so I guess im gonna try the setup I had without the sizer first as she ought to be getting some air. Any ideas on overdrive for about 30lbs of boost with the superman? I have pulleys for 30,34, and 44 % over

Yes, you are going to need some fuel. How much boost at what rpm do you want to start off with? What is the cubic inches of your motor.

30 over is going to be pretty sporty.

    I tuned a 481x with a k11 Superman at 30 over that needed around a 70-80 main with a 990 and went very low 6s at 2100 lbs.

My F3 rotor at 32 over that’s 100 passes from being stripped colored the plugs ( a little) in one pass last weekend with a 990 and a 77 main at over 3000 ft altitude.

    Be careful.

    And cap that high speed.

Think you should I think you should start off around 20-22% OD with this blower

Apples to oranges in terms of boost but FWIW I run an F-11 with critchley mods on my brad 8 motor and at 30 over it pushes WELL over 40 lbs at 8k rpm. So keep it rich to start....

You've been given a lot of good advice here but I'm not sure its really sinking in with you bringing the high speed back up in conversation. Put 20-30psi on your PUMP SIZER with your 75 jet, throw an 80 in the main, take the car to 330' and read the plugs. Plugs look ok, take it to the 1/8th and repeat.

Hard to hurt anything with a blower that only puts out 20 lbs of boost. The same can't be said for one that doubles that output. So take baby steps and leave the high speed in the tool box until your fuel system is close!

Is the 11.5 compression still a good number for this new combination ?

Mike am ordering pulleys for 20% and 25% over. Am a little cofused tho do I still need the pump sizer even with the better blower? And in repnse to td3829mk I had already ordered the check valve for sizer and fittings to move HS before I bought the new blower. Im just gonna leave HS off the setup till I get everything safe., and a better grasp of what the hell im doing. with the way it was set up it never opened in 1/8 anyhow which is where I primarily run. Did the 1/4 stuff for my license passes. Thanks

I would talk to Spud on the pump sizer. You can put one in and turn the check valve in reverse so it is shut off for now. I use the pump sizer to keep my main jet always in the 70-85 range so to keep the percentage of change smaller than if running a big jet like a 120-140. If Spud gave you a tuneup for your motor at 30 lbs of boost then you should be good to go and read the plugs. At 30 lbs of boost you need right around 11 gpm

Mike, the tuneup card says 30 over and we don’t know what spud was expecting out of his old blower.

Motorworx, you should really try to use Spuds free calculator. The F11 I tuned on I’m pretty sure I had to use over 700 cu. in. Per rev to get the calculator lined up with my plug readings. I think I use about 675 on my F3. I would expect at 20 over you’ll come up with a main between .090 and .120 with no pump sizer at 700 cu in per rev. If this is correct, then turn the pump sizer around like Mike said. Maybe you end up using it, maybe not. If you turn the blower up to 30 plus OD, I’d say almost definetely you will NOT need the sizer or the high speed (or maybe a very small sizer in bad air).

Mechanical spring loaded High speeds are used for 2 reasons.

    1. Shitty blower being turned too fast and making heat out back. The motor is losing efficiency as the blower is building heat in high gear so you can pull a little fuel and get some power back (maybe)

    2. Manage power off the line. Set the crack to open very early in low gear. The high speed’s only function in this scenario is to kill a little power (by being rich) right at the hit

Timed high speeds can be used to do other things but you’re too early in the learning curve with your combo to mess with any of this.

Talked with Spud said he was thinking my blower was better than it was an gave me tune based on that said put 30% pulleys on and start with the 125 without the sizer go 330 etc. .I have used his calculator but wasn't able to get readings correct cause blower sucked . He also told me that the sizer would be ok just make things more difficult for me to figure out as I am new to this. He told me don't change anything just move all nozzels to BAU and see how she idles then give her a go
