anyone use a small shop vac to suck the methanol out between rounds? I’ve seen some guys use it and was wondering if it really works? I assume it helps pulling heat out of the engine too. Or is it just added noise to the pits

Absolutely DO NOT use vacuum. It can, and will, ignite in the shop vac. Use the blower side (i.e. blow into the valve cover).

An air mattress filler like a Quick Fill unit works well and you can put a filter on the inlet so you do not run grit into your motor. The evacuation process helps drive out the vapors that can condense in the motor when cool and start to corrode things.

The inflators actually do a pretty good job, if you make up a fitting to seal it up on the pressure side.
