I see Brad Penn is now Penn Grade 1. and the Penn Grade 1 is listed as partial synthetic.
I have heard that they changed the formula....and not for the better! Is this true?????
I tried to Google the past specs vs new specs but got nowhere.

From past experience we have ran brad penn for years.. once it switched we had nothing but problems. We have switched to cleanboost and haven't looked back!

Extreme brand products racing oil. It’s sold by Larry Jeffers race cars it is really good stuff we have been running it for two years and no problems bearings always look good. He also sells other products like brake clean glass cleaner trans fluid etc.

I have the specs on the old oil and then looked up the ones on the new brand and found out that they are exactly the same spec.( At least in the straight wt. racing oils ie,. 50 60 70 wt.)

We use Penngrade 60 with zero issue's . Love this oil. Very sticky and bearings look like new after over 20 runs. This is a BAE roots combo with 44 lbs of boost in a 3200 lb car on drag radials.

Ok... Update, I was told some things have changed with the Penngrade last three outings, we have started with fresh oil and burnt up push rods, never had an issue before. Same pre race maintenance, same oil weight, same lash, same rpm. Today I am switching to LUCAS 60. Have a friend who runs it with zero issues and it has to be the oil, never the same push rod, just random. They are no longer making the 60 in pen grade either so Im junking my supply.

Larry Jeffers xtream brand products is the only way to go they make it in 50 60 70 and 20-50 made 10 1/8 mile runs on same oil looks great when it was drained and bearings look great after 24 passes blown alky pro mod with a whipple running low 3.80s to mid 3.70s call and talk to Larry he has some guys running 15-20 runs on same oil price is right on with everyone else I believe it’s $65 for a case of 12 quarts he can do 5 gallon buckets and 55 gal drums too

    Isn’t the extreme synthetic oil?
Brad penn is normal oil right? They had a line fall off on the burnout with Jeffers oil in it and it was a bastard to get off the track. The gave up and had to scrape the rubber off the track. Happened at Super Bowl.

It’s a synthetic blend very sticky stuff alcohol will not mess with it at all first time we changed oil tried to use alky to wash out the drain pan and it wouldn’t touch it oil stayed stuck to the bottom Larry told me that gas or brake clean is the only thing that will mess with it alky won’t even blend with it in the oil pan

I talked directly with ken about this. so has Canter. The Nitro 70 I was told is exactly the same. it was never semi synthetic. mineral based. part #7117.
Although I am only buying the old containers until someone I trust tests two bottles old and new and it test's identical.

I can back up what promodracer said. I called the refinery and talked to their expert and he stated the only change was in the name. Other than that the formula is unchanged. Be aware of Fake News. If you want to call him his name is Ken Tyger and his phone is (814) 598-7391. Ken said you are welcome to call him if you have questions.
