Currently using Mooneyham rear bearing plate. Is there a manufactured plate that allows more setback of the blower for Nostalgia fuel class ? Heritage rule states no projection past rear mounting surface of the block that the can is bolted to.

The set back is more determined by the intake and a setback plate on it. A modern Superman type blower has rhe rotors set back in the case. This keeps the length of the rotors legal. You cant go wrong with a Littlefield for NT/F.

Yes I'm aware of the intake setback plate deal & that's
what I 'm fabricating. Asking about bearing plate to gain some minor distance to clear blower to manifold bolt pattern separation.

In other words, what is the thinnest rear bearing plate, so that the intake setback plate can maximize overall rearward blower positioning.

Yes Chris, that is what I'm trying to achieve. This would allow bolt patterns, not interfere with each other + a minor amount of distance on the setback.
It unfortunate that NHRA (Nonsense HRA) when establishing the heritage rule book didn't take into consideration that there is perfect alignment from the front of both blower case 2nd set of holes & manifold 3rd set of holes and creates a perfect bolt pattern for a setback setup and only puts the rear of the blower approx 1/16" extended beyond a 1/4" motor plate bolted to the back of the block .

If all you need is 1/16", what if you took the brg. plates off and made some out of thin sheet metal and used countersunk screws to be flush with the plate.

Aloha Dale, That one entered my thoughts also, I'll do some more measurements to determine clearances. When reading setback rule, its confusing as it reads " setback may not allow any portion of blower to extend behind bellhousing mounting surface on the cylinder block " . Brings in play a question, does this include or exclude the 1/4" thickness of the motor plate ? If the motor plate is included then your proposal on the bearing plates would work with room to spare.

You can cut .200 off rear plate and use single row bearings

Just spoke to a legal N/TF owner. He is setting his to the back of the motor plate. Counter sinking screws probably.

Thanks Andy, I didn't know if that was an option, I assume if the single row bearings were used, to purchase a quality product. Do you have a recommendation for a single row bearing ?
