Just wondering why it has been recommended that when running a cooling system with a blown injected alcohol deal to have a non pressurized cooling system.

Is this a drag car or a street car? And who said not to use a pressurized system. With a non pressurized system it is going to boil at 180* with a pressurized system you can go way above that on the boiling point

We ran a blown alky SBC for years and had a closed cooling system on it Main issue if we pushed a head gasket out it would blown the cap of the radiator.I welded up all the water holes on the deck of the head and fixed that issue .

How was the cooling system doing anything if it couldn't flow through the engine since the head water ways were blocked. Seems as if you only had the block filled without any circulation. i was told that if any pressure in the system would only make leakage and hydraulicing issues more pronounced.

We ran 2 -10 lines from a electric bilge pump to the back of the heads had a -12 on the front of the manifold to the radiator. bottom of the radiator had a -12 to the pump Block was 100% filled With the cast SBC heads they needed cooling .
