Thought I'd ask this on hear, I got a 4bolt main block, 454 stk, 060 over, Ithas a small pin hole at the top and will have to be sleeved. Will this cause any problems with a mild blown engine on gas?

Should be no problem, would probably use a 4.375" OD sleeve.

I had a .090 BBC 472 Cu In (truck block) that rotated duty with a Rodeck. We sleeved and ran it in a AADA (1979). The engine had ~11 -1 compression with 6-71 (40% OD). Block was filled with cement for weight as much as cylinder wall support. We put at least 24 runs on it w/o any issues.

I agree if it is a cast iron block. I saw a factory cast iron hemi block that had been bored and sleeved on ONE cylinder. Either they used too big of a bored sleeve OD or they machined the iron block wrong but when the engine was ran and got hot, the iron sleeve expanded and broke the block in HALF. Just saying.

Sounds like there was some bad machine work there. This block has arp main studs, has been align bored. They are going to sleeve it and then check #5 cyl to make sure it doesn't distort it. Problem cyl is #7. If it does, we're going to 070 over. If it don't we'll hone with torq plates, clean and install new cam bearings and freeze plugs.

Ours were Bowtie blocks, sleeved all 8 once, filled it to the freeze plug hole--no issues. Also did a truck block at #2--no issues 4.40 bore. JW

Distortion of adjacent cylinders is always possible, if you have the option of +.070" then should be OK
