I know most run the valve cover breathers to the double frame rails but on our car they stop at the mid plate (outlaw 10.5 rules). Anyone ever seen or see a problem with running the breather tubes in the lower main frame rails? My only concern is drilling two 1.25" holes in that main frame rail causing a weak point. This is a screw blown hemi in a radial car. Thanks for any help!

First thing to know if the chassis builder didn't build in an inlet, it could possibly have many air vent holes connecting to uprights and diagonals needed when welding. If you just take a shot at it, chassis will collect lots of oil.

Thanks for the reply Bob, we thought about that. We did do lots of venting but not sure where exactly. And when we did i think we used 1/8" drill bit. So worse case we get oil in horizontals (vericals would prob just drain back down) and it gets trapped and adds weight? I can live with that probably...

The problem with oil accumulating in the frame is that even with the finest welding it will find a place to leak (forever). :(
