Found a little bit of info...are these blowers worth anything? Friend of mine trying to sell me an SCS 8-71 Hi helix, billet case, claiming it will move near the same air and perform around the same as a 1471 std, thinking he's prob not too far off, but at the same times its kind of an apples and oranges comparison, any feedback from you guys on this subject?

In there day the SCS blowers were near the top of performance.

I don't know what they are worth but that was probably 15 years ago when he stopped making them.

I do not have and have never had an SCS blower, no particular reason other than I have just never had one. Probably a good piece but in regards to your question as to if an 8 will deliver about the same amount of air as a 14? I doubt that very much. A quality 8 and a quality 14 WILL produce different amounts of air. That will be 2 cents, please.

I helped with a car that had an scs 14-71 and ended up borrowing it for a pass.

The first car went 6.59 @ maybe 205. Bolted on a superman and went 6.3x @ nearly 220.

My car was set up to go low 6.50s with a Fairly new LIttlefield hihelix 14.. Bolted on the scs and went 6.61. It was obvious to me based on seat of the pants that the blower nosed over pretty hard up top. These were both running around 8k rpm and high 30s overdrive.

For a bracket blower, though, they are pretty nice just because of the billet case. Very heavy but should be nearly indestructible.

Never seen nor heard of an scs 8-71.

How much boost did you make with 14-71 SCS at 8k?

No data on either car at the time. I was told it had made high 30s previously. I would say if it did it was making a bunch of heat.
