I can't help but wonder about the laid back, swept back zoomie headers like the fuel dragsters and fuel funny cars are going to. Is the lower angle and forward thrust created mainly because of the quantity of exhaust exiting the pipes of the nitro exhaust or would the lower angle be beneficial to alky cars too? Any experiences with laid back headers on alky?

I know in a door car when there laid back too far it will power wheelie , no matter how much weight you put on the nose. Janis has it figured out, look at his headers. He had it figured out.

You might ask Cruz Pedregon what he thinks about it. :)

I saw too run, too. Does make a person rethink it. My dragster has a front wing, so.......

Most modern era TAFC's have had pretty swept back headers for as long as I can remember. TAD's, and B/AD in particular have been all over the map from vertical with almost no spacing to pointing just over the tire.

Does it help? I'm sure it does, just not anywhere close to as dramatically. we make about 1/4-1/3 the power of a fuel car. Combustion cylinder pressures are directly related to the amount of power, so plan on having 1/4-1/3 the thrust effect. We have a lot of velocity just from RPM and piston velocity, but the explosive force from combustion just isn't there, nor does it get and afterburning effect like the fuel cars do. Like the difference between a rocket motor and a 200mph leaf blower.

The way a lot of people are running their cars now, especially in TAFC, the tune up is more conducive to picking up the front end near the 330 regardless of how your headers are pointed.
