I have a blown roots alky hemi pedal clutch alterd with a k barrel valve and was wondering what is the general leak setting? 80 is what I have now and went up and down with setting but iam still getting black lines on the exaut side of pistons, not all. Is there anything else to be done?, I heard of a hack saw a line in the center of spool? I don't have a computer so no data. Your thoughts. Thanks

I think they sell 3 different v-notch spools. There's even a blank that you can make your own v-notch. The leak down is just a starting point until you get it to where the engine likes it. Then you can leak it and repeat it in the future. Hope this helps.

If you have a roots blower you need the standard V notch. The modified square notch is for screw blowers. The percent leak down depends on how you set it up and what the crack pressure is on your idle return poppet. The standard roots idle return poppet crack pressure is about 9 to 9 1/2 lbs and with that the percent leakdown is somewhere between 82 and 84 percent with the idle return capped off and the upper fuel out hose not on. You should be adjusting the idle mixture so that a quick snap on the hat linkage lever gives you a quick and sharp response. If it blubbers then it is too rich and if there is any hesitation then it is too lean
