Hat Fuel Question

    Roots or screw. Has anyone ever tried tossing a portion of the hat fuel "up" into the airstream in order to give it a better chance to mix with the incoming rushing air before being swallowed by the rotors? Did you see any results good or bad?

    My first 2 nozzles are pointed up 45 degrees, I've always ran them that way to cool the charge so no comparison and my car is not a killer car so take it for what's it's worth.

    I did this and it didn't change anything for my setup, good or bad.

    Not sure having them at 45 degrees is much for performance as it is for cooling and lubrication of the rotors. I always have had the front ones at 45 degrees. I believe that once the fuel and air get into the rotors being compressed that it makes no difference to how it mixes before. I believe that you ideally want to do as much to cool the mixture and lubricate the stripes as possible.

    Not quite 100% sure I am tracking you. I get lost easy....

    Do you think there is much benefit to getting the meth into the air initially (cooling the air) before getting the meth/air mixture into the rotor/case cavities and then compressing/evaporating that load for discharge?

    Or should one just try to get the air/meth reasonably smashed together and then let the inter lobe compression forces do the rest of the magic through compression and movement?

    What do you think of the wetted lobe idea where much of the fuel is simply dumped onto the rotors in liquid form, kind of analogous of a wetted commercial plant air compressor application?

    Always curious about various thoughts/applications.

    The most important factor for performance is cooling the incoming air before it gets into the rotors and compressed. The second most important item on a roots blower is keeping the rotors stripes lubricated and cooled. The wetted lobe will not give you much air cooling.

    In your screw stuff have you, or anyone you know, tried the DMPE axial insert plate with the six little drillings that squirt liquid fuel down into the part line area of the rotors? That fuel would be mainly just cooling the rotors I guess?

    I would think just taking fuel from port nozzles and adding to hat would cool things then balance ports to plugs.

    Running more fuel in top of a screw blower has as much to do with sealing the rotors as well as cooling them.

    I tried it both ways. I didn't see a definitive difference either way.

    Do you mean with and without the DMPE plate, or wetting the rotors?

    I was referring to the injectors spraying up or down. I tried it on a roots and a D screw.
