    Hey Guys
We run TD with a Chevy 540 with 14-71 we run 6.20 with 24 psi boost. Started pushing head gaskets out so we need to o-ring our motor this winter what is the best way to oring it. O-ring the block and put a resiver groove in the head or Oring the head and put a reciving groove in the block (Note Block is Iron) What is the best way to do it.

If it's a cast iron block we run a figure 8 in the block. You can go to a 4.600 bore and keep it sealed. This way if you push one just fix the head and cut deeper after the head is surfaced. We run a .065 @ 30-45 psi with a screw blower. At your boost level Take a good look at the tune up. It should seal with no O-ring. www.fuelinjectionenterprises.com The best $$ I ever spent as far as power per $$. Hope this helps !! Been there done that... Good luck !!

Ring in the head and receiver in the block. my 540 chevy has never had sealing issues.

.041" wire about .025 in block, no receiver groove, should work perfectly.

You don't have a picture of a block with the figure 8 O-rings, do you?

My 2 cents. Oringing heads worst thing ever done. You only get one resurface and one reoring because no one has bigger than .041 and .052 tooling. So after that you got 2 door stops.

No problem. I've been using this method for 12 years no problems. It allows for larger bores. I took a cast dart block from std bore to 4.600 on a BBC.

I'm at 4.600 bore now, matching receiver grooves in the head?

Lay sheets of carbon paper on the deck & snug the heads. It makes a nice transfer.
