My 17" dragster good year front tires have some weather checking on the sidewalls. Thinking about buying a new set. Can any of you guys give me some input on the Hoosiers vs the Good Years....... Don't think I want to go to the wider T/F Good years but I will take any input you guys have.

    Thanks!

you are not alone - bought a set of the 4" wide fronts 4 years ago - they cracked really bad - goodyear sent 1 replacement, its sidewall cracked - goodyear said not their problem - j bickels refunded me less my postage.

don't know if it was a faulty batch as lots of cars run goodyears - however do the side walls last for these other racers ??

    front tires

They all crack in a couple of years, we have run them with a lot of cracks and never had a failure, the fuel tires are cheap from the fuel teams or the goodyear rep
that will sell them to you.

We run the TF tires. I like the greater stability. Haven't had a problem.

We have ran the regular size Good Years and Hoosiers, both work fine but I like the Hoosiers better. They seem to stay softer a little longer. Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the reply's and info Guys....

I am having Dennis Taylor's shop build some front tire covers for me. My car is in our shop with lights on 5 days a week getting UV so when I buy new tires maybe we can extend their (shelf life)....... I always cover the rear tires as much as possible.
