Can anyone tell me the maximum limits of boost that the standard burst panels will hold up to? THANKS, Jim

Some of the compound turbo and turbo/super guys are way over 65 psi boost. I wonder what they use for burst panels and/or pressure relief?.....

While on the subject of Burst Panels, How many passes can you use the same burst panel? Of course not having any problems etc. I run around 30-35 lbs boost and get nervous after 10-15 passes. Now I have a whole stack of used panels. Am I wasting panels or doing the right thing by changing them every 10-15?

    Thanks

    Chuck.

Funny you say that! I was counting the number of "old" panels on the shelf that have "10-runs" written on them! That was 50# IHRA TAFC...Blower belt at 3 to 4

Good screw blower splits the inner one on like 3 runs.
Believe most roots guys ran them til they broke. Screw blower pushes right on the inner panel, The roots doesn't directly hit it.

Since we're talking about burst panels, some questions come to mind........

    1) If a person wanted to run a bunch more than 60psig boost, and yet still have a safety relief, could two burst panels be used back to back in place of one single?

    2) In the case of a screw [PSI] if there is already a burst panel cage in the manifold, can a person forego and block off the burst panel opening at the back of the screw, and just use the one in the manifold?

    3) Do manufacturers make burst panels with different burst ratings, or do they all target the same SFI spec?

    4) What do the insane tractor puller guys with compound turbos use for pressure relief devices [or as I call them "Manifold Over Pressurization" {MOP} devices] knowing that they are at well over 150psig of boost?

    Thanks.
