At only the second race of the year.

Run of the year and it is race #2

(a bit of sarcasm inserted here), and not meant to slight Johnny and his team in anyway, as they have shown huge potential in the last half of last year and into this year, but if someone runs that quick this soon, and he is not in all honesty one of the top 5 A/Fuel teams out there well that is scary.

And if you weren't sure what 1% and 10 degrees did before you are now. Rumor is they were 95.5% and were tossed in the final. So .5% is effective I can see.

Severance with the starting line advantage, but Ahten got the win light, but then in tech his nitro measured 95.5% so the Severance was awarded the win. Joey Severance wins his 14th divisional title.

Ok, before everyone gets too crazy, let me say that the NHRA tech did a thorough check of our fuel. We are normally 1/2% below to be safe. Every A/fuel team has trouble with the NHRA hydrometer from time to time. They wanted to be sure that they were correct, so it was also measured with a float hydrometer and confirmed at 95.5%. Believe me I have no idea how it was that hot.
Therefore that is one additional percent more than we would normally run and 2 percent more than last year. Last year we were usually 93.4-93.7%.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Whitley run a 5.17 with the same rules in place today?
Didn't Demke run consistent low 5.20's just one race ago.
With legal passing fuel we ran a 5.26 and a 5.24.

At any rate, we're embarrassed with our fuel being over, we are not in a position to chase national points, we simply love drag racing and love A/fuel. We work extremely hard on our combination just as everyone else does.
For some they will be bent out of shape and that goes with the parody, one side is always upset.
Just base your gripe on facts not rumors.

I'll tell you what, a 5.15 is one Helluva ride! Now I really want to climb into a top Fuel car!
    Respectfully,
    Johnny

Thanks for responding Johnny to this post. Too bad about the dq and love your comment about now wanting a TF ride or at least a run or two.

I know it is really hard to say , but the .5 - 1% less would compute to what, "a 5.18 - 5.21" I suppose.

As far as the deal and why I think it was a mistake, go to Will's new thread about parity.

Johnny, I don't see how anyone would think it was done on purpose. Stuff happens and at the wrong time. You guys were certainly hauling the mail.
