I am in the planning and ordering stages of building a 4x4 rear engine dragster. Question is which one is considered the best? Im guessing the solid is 50 lbs or so lighter over all and thats my main goal to keep it light. Just looking for some outside opinions.

    Thanks
    Scott

Long wheelbase solid rear is the ticket for a blown alcohol dragster.

What is a 4x4 rear engine dragster?

How quick are you planning/hoping to go?

I have a solid rear, I tell people, when Top Alcohol and Top Fuel guys go to a suspension I will consider it. Solid for me.

If you are going to build/buy a 240" bracket car I would consider the surface condition/ shut down area / surface prep. of the tracks you are planning to run.
I always thought the Yancer mono-shock looked like a good way to help with rough shut down areas etc.

If you are NEVER going to pull your parachute and hammer on the brakes (which I think is a bad idea). The guys who have raced both solid and suspended cars will tell you the suspended car stops better.

    rear end

its for a mud dragster type rail. More so top of the ground drag racing. Sometimes may be wet but more than like damp ground.

I'd think that would suggest a swingarm chassis then.
