Hi, has anyone using the Grid had a problem with no tach output or shift light output, everything else works fine but the tach and shift light doesn't work, I've been over the wiring and read what I can find, looked at the soft ware and can't find a problem, I replaced the grid with another one and it is the same.

What kind of shift light are you using? We were using an LED light and it was shorted out after the first lap. Went back to an old school bulb/lens combo and it's worked fine ever since. The box actually powers/controls power to the shift light.

Also make sure you've got the tach wired correctly and check your chassis grounds. The box sends a 12V signal, but I don't think it actually powers the tach like it does the shift light. As for which wire, I couldn't tell you.. We don't use a tach.

I am a grid newbie but, the grid supplies a ground not power.
You need to run power to the shift light, then the grid will ground it at the set RPM.

Cant help you with the tach problem. We dont run one.

Fair enough. The Grid can regulate voltage through the system via the ground, you can dim a normal light with it.

No, you turn the light on with it.

Put power to the light, the grid provides the ground when you tell it to.

We run an Autometer LED light with it. Autometer told us it would work on the medium and high settings, not low. Don't ask me why.

Aside from checking to make sure you have it wired correctly, make sure that whatever switch you are using is dropping 12v from the launch wire. If you have a problem triggering the launch wire, it never goes into 'run' mode, so the shift light won't trigger.

You should be able to pull the SD card in the grid and look at the MSD ReView file and it is a big help in troubleshooting.
