I a cs1 trans and a clutch right now and was wondering can I put a convertor behind a cs1. I know nothing about it just was thinking of making a change if it's possible. Last thing I wanna do is sell 2 trans and 6 gear sets to make a change. It's bad enough the beating I'm gonna take on the ti bell and ti clutch. Just looking to see if it's possible. Thanks ita !!

You might want to consider putting that convertor in front of the cs1.
    sorry, couldn't resist.

Lencodrive is one of the options out there for this deal.

Will all those company's build convertors for either of those . I'm trying to run pro mod and quick 8 stuff with a blown door car. Isn't the pan an issue in a car. Where it won't clear the center bars in the car. Would it still be the same changing gears or will it be like a normal trans now where the convertor will lose fluid as well

The Bruno is your only option if you want to use Cs1 parts. The Lencodrive requires Cs2 gears and the B&J is a B&J. Your current Cs1 ratios may be wrong for a converter. You will also need timing control. Six shooters have gotten cheap because people are moving on to the newer MSD and Leahy stuff. Depending on where you run you may need a Ti or Al bell for the Bruno. A good converter is costly and will you pick the right one for your combo. I think people are making the switch because the converter can become a constant in your tuning equation. My budget says its expensive to follow the herd at this time.
These statements are from a guy who doesn't have a car ready yet. Feel free to call me an idiot etc.

The B&J Quick drive can fit anything, Lenco CS1 included. Your bell may also fit, give Mike a call at B&J, he is a great guy to talk to with a wealth of information

The B&J is not part of the first gear. So all of the trans changes are seperate from the converter drive. Also, since it is not part of the first gear, you are not limited on gearing options for first. Whatever the trans can come up with. The other nice thing about not being part of the first gear is that the trans blanket does not need to cover the converter drive as well. And B&J is dual pattern, for B&J and lenco.

I would also give B&J a call, I think that they might be a little more helpful when it comes to the converter side of things, along with some tuning advice. Mike Janis has run a quick drive in the past and Mike Austin is currently doing some testing with the quick drive for the Ynot crew.

I've run the bruno with a CS1 roots and screwblown. It's not that difficult but there's plenty of opinions.
The bruno with a big pan is bulky and we always move the crossmember for easy maint.
The lencodrive is the lightest and most compact but uses CS2 as mentioned and has other fun quirks.
I've had really good luck with Chance and Coan converters. Chance can help you select ratios etc.
You don't need state of the art..
We use the 8973 msd box and couldn't be happier with it.
