Rev limiters

What's the best rev limiter for a Mallory mag V points style mag? I have a nostalgia nitro f/c motor... Thanks, Gary 1-716-713-9985

These are soft touch as opposed to the Autometer or PSI.

 

I could be wrong here but I think the ETC rev limiters are pretty picky about your amp output, could be wrong though.

We tried one with our Vertex and with it set on 9000rpm it started popping and spitting at around 5500 so we unhooked it and called them, they said it just needed adjusting but I never got to sending it out.

Anyone else tried them?

Do N/FC cars even use a rev limiter?. I'd have though it would cause more harm than good or be totally useless. I heard bad things even on a blown alky engine so i did not even bother to fit one and was happy. Try asking on some nitro forums or call a mag shop. best of luck .

 

Rev Limiter

I agree with Dave, Autometer works. I use one with a Mallory Supermag IV, 4.5 amps. I didn't think I needed one until it was two late, you can bet after a new block, rods, pistons and head work, I have one now.

 

ETC Limiters

Call Spud! My buddy got an ETC limiter off him and used it with one of his Hotrod 8 amp Supermags with not much success! He will fill you in.

Jason, if he didn't have " much success " with the ETC that he bought from Spud, why not send it back to Spud ?

Or are you saying to call Spud and find out why the ETC your buddy bought from ETC didn't work ?

Please clarify ?

 

It looks like Spud sells an "up graded" version of the ETC according to his web site.
