ok, at the end of last year we tore up our rear end housing.we are ready to put the new rear end housing in the car and i would like to get a few opinions on where to mount the anchors for the shroud lines. we bought a new Moser M-9 crome-moly 9" Ford housing with a back brace (floater).
in light of the recent problems with housings coming apart and shroud lines pulling loose for whatever reason i am really up in the air about how and where to mount the anchors for the chute lines. we used to have them dead center of our old housing. we used a plate on top and bottom of the back brace for each point last time with a 1/2" bolt and had no issues.
i am considering taking something like an axle tie down strap like we use to tie the car down in the trailer and looping it around each axle tube and mounting them like that. i know that would definitely spread the load out and be just as strong as anything out there. anyone have any thoughts? i think this issue really deserves to be discussed...hopefully we can do this on here.

I would use the strap as a backup and use a conventional bracket type as the primary.

Back in the "old" days, I remember using the strap quite often but it was made out of the same material as the main chute lines and was covered with nomex but I don't think that the current "tech" guys would buy into it as the primary.

    Just my .02¢.
