Sounds like the NHRA Pro mod deal....but do they really Just(?) want 8 cars? What if a couple break?

If you are going to run this deal then I am sure Bob wants you to have spare bullets. This concept could be the start of major changes in thinking. Bob has thought this through for a long time. Heck, you don't even have to check the bearings on these deals every run.

I still see this as Fields way of doing business, i am going out on a limb, i think this will be drag racing's monster jam, like the trucks, they will control every aspect of it, maybe even who wins an event
    hope i am wrong...

So there going to fix races, I don't think racers will race. I think your saying these things because of you dislike of the IHRA for dropping AFC. Ain't no way they are going to fix drag racing.

Lets give them some credit for giving the A-Fuel guys another place to race. And don't forget about Bob he did a lot of work getting this done. His persistence paid off.

I am sorry John, Bob wouldn't be involved if it was like that. He is a man of great integrity. I consider him my friend. IHRA may or may not be the complete answer, but everyone in the industry will be keeping their eyes on this class. Working on an A-Fuel car with Bob for a season that would run 270 mph showed me the power that is possible at 100%. With clutch management, wow!!

    Clutch Mgmt?

Can someone give me the basics on clutch mgmt?
What does it really buy me over having the clutch right without it?

We ran 5.2x@275 on 93% many times this year, and Monroe had the better results.

I have seen many tuners kill a good run with the six shooter chips. I assume clutch mgmt has the same risk.

I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I will be running the new in house safety team for IHRA. I want each of you to know that I am excited about this class and think that it has unlimited potential. I have been a part of IHRA drag racing all my life and having the safety team is a dream come true of mine. I look forward to working with each one of you that will be participating in the new class and the new format. I will be at Palm Beach on Thursday and plan to try and get around to meeting each of you in person along with the crew. I have included my contact information if you ever have any questions for me please don't hesitate to ask.

    Testing

That is the way Chicago format usually works, hence people saying it isn't real racing. You show up to make passes for money and the fastest guys get paid more. I have a couple of relatives with blown cars that think that is the only way to "race", they will not go unless they get paid per run.

    News Flash!!
Pairings and lane choice will be determined by a blind draw by a fan for each class
